Lead Clinical Research Coordinator

The University of Virginia (UVA) is seeking a Lead Clinical Research Coordinator housed in the School of Data Science for a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD)-funded 4-year study entitled, "The REACH Intervention for Caregivers of Veterans and Service Members with TBI: Efficacy and Implementation Planning across the VA Polytrauma System of Care." The Lead Clinical Research Coordinator will be responsible for working directly with the Principal Investigator, Dr. Paul Perrin, UVA Professor of Data Science and Psychology, to oversee the study and link collaborators across UVA, Virginia Commonwealth University, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the University of Tennessee, and the University of Utah. They will assist Dr. Perrin in his administrative roles and aid in regulatory approvals, writing DoD quarterly reports, monitoring study progress, and supporting the overall conduct of the study at UVA and across all collaborating sites.

The School of Data Science at the University of Virginia is seeking a Manager or Director of Strategic Initiatives and Major Events. This position will oversee the formulation and implementation of event strategy for all events that support major initiatives of the school and Dean. They will define the goals, success metrics, and messaging for strategic events. They will build relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally, across the University, as well as develop a network of vendors and suppliers. They will implement best practices and develop planning standards, policies, and procedures that best support the school’s mission and organizational needs. As part of the core administrative team, this position will report to the Associate Dean for Administration and work closely with Development, Communications, and the Dean to align priorities and recommend and implement strategic pathways for the school.

Postdoctoral Research Associate, School of Data Science

Summer Graduate Assistant (Student & Staff Wage) 

The Data Justice Academy seeks eight “near peer” mentors to support research projects in data science. These are hybrid positions, part research assistant, part teaching assistant. You will work with the faculty mentor to break down research tasks for the undergraduate scholars. If the shoclars need to learn or brush up on certain skills, you will identify tutorials to help. You will help undergraduate scholars succeed in the research project and to develop their data science skills.

Capstone Assistant (Staff and Student Wage)

The School of Data Science seeks an assistant to support the Masters Capstone program. Masters students work in small groups to solve a real-world problem with real-world data. These problems are provided by partners in industry, government, non-profit sector and academia. The assistant will support the sourcing of these projects up to the time of launch. We expect to launch 50 unique projects between August 2023 and February 2024.
