I decided to minor in Data Science because it complements my Commerce degree and my interest in combining business and technology to solve real-world problems.
In my commerce classes, we learned that with today’s rapidly changing technological landscape, driven by advancements in AI and data, companies need to stay innovative and leverage technology to remain competitive. Through the School of Data Science, I’ve developed skills like Python and SQL that allow me to analyze data and turn it into actionable insights—skills that are critical for driving innovation and success in any industry.
This combination of business knowledge and data skills not only prepares me for opportunities like my upcoming internship at Capital One, where data-driven decision-making is a focus, but also positions me to thrive in a business world increasingly shaped by technology.
